Nike Free Run 2 running shoe offers the natural feeling of running barefoot, but still manages to give you good flexible support, despite the ultra light upper. The minimalistic design actually strengthens your intrinsic muscles in your foot and ankle, as it allows for use in muscles, which conventional running does not. The Nike Free Concept originates in Standford, where Nike looked into the training methods of the very successful athletes there and found out they trained barefoot. 3 of Nike's most esteemed and creative innovators went to work on this basis and in 2002 they began work on the first Nike Free by mapping the foots biomechanics. 8 years later the first Nike Free went on sale and the result was a shoe that "understood" your feet, how they land, where the pressure is applied.
