In 1994 adidas launched the Predator, a boot silo that would show to become one of the most iconic and beloved to date. Therefore, 2014 also marks the 20 year anniversary for the rather special boot. We have now seen 14 generations of the Predator, and one has been more iconic than the other. The anniversary is celebrated with 14 versions of the new Predator Instinct, including 3 boots that are a part of the new Revenge Pack. The latest boot in the Revenge Pack celebrates one of the most iconic boots ever – the adidas Predator Accelerator. The boot was launched in connection with the World Cup in 1998, and was worn by players like David Beckham, Alessandro Del Piero and Zinedine Zidane. The new remake is a limited edition and will only be available in a very limited quantity across the globe – so hurry up and get your hands on them, before it's too late. The Predator Accelerator is one of the most classic and beloved boots from the Predator collection. It was the result of years of development and a good amount of innovative thoughts from adidas. The boot was, as the previous Predators, made of soft kangaroo leather; which, coupled with the asymmetric lacing, provided a nice and clean touch on the ball. In addition, the Accelerator boot was equipped with the iconic tongue that delivered a classic Predator look. The upper on the adidas Predator Accelerator was, as its predecessors, covered with aggressive rubber zones. The zones had however been made slightly less aggressive, and the zones had also been more strategically placed. Even if the zones had been made less aggressive, they still had the same effect and ensured good friction between boot and ball. Adidas had further developed their Traxion stud configuration for the boot, to give the players an even more aggressive grip to the pitch. The remake of the Predator Accelerator is inspired by the second generation of the Predator Accelerator, which was launched in 1999. The remake is equipped with the same nice and classic look as the original, but comes with new and innovative technologies. The detailing on the boot stays the same. 'Die drei Streifen' are still to be found on the boot, and the decorative red wave on the side of the boot has also been implemented on the new version. The colour combination is classic Predator, and the well known tongue is also still there. Furthermore, the friction zones have been placed in the same areas as on the original boot. As we also saw it on the Predator Instinct 94, the Predator Accelerator has been made with an upper of the comfortable Hybridtouch material. It replaces the kangaroo leather that we saw on the original. The sole on the new Predator Accelerator is made with the adidas 'Control Frame', which provides better stability to your forefoot, as well as increased control. You will still see the TRX stud configuration on the new version of the boot. The Predator Accelerator is the most beloved boot ever, and fans of #BringBackTheTongue and the Predator collection will surely love the new version of the Predator Accelerator.
